As the only animal shelter in the county, the Addison County Humane Society works hard to meet the needs of a growing and changing population. Since 1975 they have provided temporary shelter for over 16,000 lost, abandoned, abused or surrendered animals. Their programs and services meet a wide array of critical animal welfare needs and they provide them without funding from any other organization or any county, state or federal.
HSCC is a private, not-for-profit organization serving both Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties whose mission is to foster compassionate treatment of animals and to prevent animal suffering. They're funded solely by the generous contributions of local businesses, foundations, and individuals. Each year HSCC takes in roughly 750 - 1,000 animals (dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs and more) and work to care for and responsibly place them in loving forever homes.

All Breed Rescue is a South Burlington, Vermont non-profit dog shelter dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in Vermont and from high-kill shelters in the South. They adopted out more than 350 dogs in 2011.

Emma's Foundation for Canine Cancer of Milton, VT provides resources, referrals and funding for canine cancer care. EFFCC works to heighten canine cancer awareness, and provides resources and financial funding to pet owners who do not have ability to pay for canine cancer treatment of their beloved pet.
